Lymphangioleiomyomatose (LAM) ist eine sehr seltene Erkrankung der Lunge, die nahezu ausschließlich bei Frauen auftritt. Sie ist meistens fortschreitend, führt zu chronischem Sauerstoffmangel und ist schließlich lebensbedrohend. In der WHO-Klassifizierung der Lungentumore wird sie auch als mikronoduläre Pneumozytenhyperplasie (MNPH) bezeichnet.

Aufgrund einer Mutation im TSC1 - oder TSC2 -Gen kommt es zu einer vermehrten Proliferation von Zellen, die glatten Muskelzellen ähneln. Erstbeschreibung.
WebDie Diagnose wird anhand der Symptomatik und des Röntgenthoraxbefundes vermutet und durch ein HRCT bestätigt. Die Prognose ist ungewiss. Die Erkrankung verläuft jedoch langsam progredient und führt im Laufe von Jahren häufig zu respiratorischer Insuffizienz und Tod. Die Behandlung erfolgt mit Sirolimus oder durch Lungentransplantation.
