The infection can affect any organ but frequently affects the central nervous system, eyes, and muscles, and is able to remain dormant for years in the brain.
    Diagnosing neurocysticercosis (NCC) is difficult due to its variable clinical presentations and the different imaging techniques used to detect brain damage. This study aimed to evaluate the use of cerebrospinal fluid serology and PCR for diagnosing biological neurocysticercosis in a non-endemic country.
    CSF serology may be helpful with the initial diagnosis, especially in cases of intraventricular/subarachnoid infection 2. Infection, which leads to extraintestinal disease (including neurocysticercosis), usually occurs as a result of eating food or drinking water contaminated by human feces containing T. solium eggs.
    CT lesions are found to be 0.38-1.20 cm in diameter without marked edema which leads to the diagnosis of neurocysticercosis [6, 9]. Neurocysticercosis has different neuroimaging findings depending on the stage of lesion.
